Automobiles in Germany's City Found Marked with Swastikas in Blood, Law Enforcement Report

Incident location Affected vehicle Area Police
Authorities reported they were contacted by a man who noticed a vehicle in Hanau marked with red-colored liquid

Roughly fifty automobiles have been smeared with what appears to be human bodily fluid in the German town of Hanau close to Frankfurt, police confirm law enforcement.

Vehicles, building surfaces and postal boxes were marked, occasionally with prohibited symbols, they stated in a statement.

Officers state they were contacted late on Wednesday night, when a man observed that a automobile in the Lamboy neighborhood of Hanau had been covered with a red-colored substance.

The substance had been placed in the form of a Nazi symbol, they added.

Law enforcement then found many other marked vehicles and house walls in the surrounding area.

These symbols are banned in Germany under laws banning the public exhibition of Nazi-era symbols.

Police state early analysis show the liquid was most likely blood from a person.

"Currently there is no clue as to where it came from; investigators are not yet cognizant of any injuries in connection with the incident," they commented.

Municipal representatives said they were attempting "to unravel the incident" and have requested to the residents for tips.

A senior political figure said the attack left him without words and required to be solved promptly.

"This act hits the core of Hanau and reopens the trauma of the far-right attack five years ago," he stated on a platform, mentioning the death of nine victims by a gunman targeting individuals of foreign heritage in five years prior.
